Their Ask: To create an immersive learning experience for Grade 8 students where they step into the role of interns for the District Collector of Bangalore. The activity should help them understand the challenges of a rapidly growing city, particularly the issue of reduced green spaces, by connecting the city's origins under Kempegowda to its present-day transformation.

To transform classroom learning into real-world engagement, we designed an immersive activity where Grade 8 students became "interns" for the District Collector of Bangalore. Through the Green Space Walk Edition of our Colonial Crawl, students traced the city's journey from its origins under Kempegowda to its colonial expansions and today's urban sprawl. Walking through historic neighborhoods, parks, and civic landmarks, they observed firsthand how green spaces have evolved and, in many cases, diminished with rapid growth. Along the way, they engaged in role-play exercises—debating policy decisions, balancing development needs with environmental concerns, and imagining solutions for a more sustainable city. The walk not only connected history to the present but also empowered students to think critically about their role in shaping Bangalore's future.
